Build a versatile acting career
Breaking into the acting industry takes more than talent – it requires professional training, adaptability and real experience. The Acting for Stage and Screen course (AFSAS) is designed for aspiring performers who want to work across theatre, film and television. With a mix of contemporary techniques and established methods such as the Stanislavski System, you will begin to develop a personal acting style that works for you.
Develop your core performance skills
You will train in the key areas every actor needs to succeed, including voice, movement and performance. Through practical classes and regular rehearsal work, you will build confidence, presence and control for both stage and screen. Working as part of an ensemble also helps you develop collaboration skills that are essential in any professional environment.
Gain real industry experience
As you progress, you will put your training into practice through live performances and a short film project. In your final year, you will work with a professional director, gaining experience of both stage production and on-set filming. This gives you valuable insight into the expectations of the industry while helping you build a professional showreel.
Expand your training
Alongside your core course, you can develop additional skills through specialist classes, including:
- Stage Combat
- Actors Dance
- Fringe Show Development
- Physical Theatre
- Specialist Acting
These sessions are a great way to broaden your experience, explore new styles and make yourself more versatile as a performer.
