Validating Partner

DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY

De Montfort University partnered with PPA in 2016 following a validation process that enabled us to deliver the BA (Hons) Acting for Stage and Screen and BA (Hons) Performance in Musical Theatre to our students.

Staff from De Montfort University work closely with our team to ensure our courses develop your creative and technical skills while preparing you for a career in the performing arts industry.

Since the partnership began, the collaboration has expanded to include several additional programmes. In 2020, the BA (Hons) Performance (Level 6 Top-Up) was introduced, followed by two foundation courses in 2023. In 2026, we are proud to launch our brand-new BA (Hons) Singing and Acting.

Through our partnership with De Montfort University, students graduate with a recognised university qualification that supports their future career. Many students are also able to access Student Finance funding for their studies.

De Montfort University offers PPA graduates the opportunity to attend an official graduation ceremony held in Leicester.

“I am delighted to see our partnership with PPA, which began in 2016, embodying our strategy and exemplifying a ‘partnership with purpose’. Having originally approved the partnership for the delivery of two full undergraduate programmes, DMU has supported the growth of the PPA portfolio with a distance learning top-up programme being added in 2020, and two DMU-validated foundation year programmes being developed for launch in September 2023.

As DMU responds to local, national and global business needs, providing flexible ways to upskill our students, PPA’s programmes provide a strong mix of vocational and academic skills development that contribute to outstanding student degree outcomes. The close working relationship between PPA and DMU colleagues is an important ingredient and we very much look forward to ensuring our collaboration with PPA goes from strength to strength.”
