Acting for Stage and Screen Auditions
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR YOUR AUDITION
For the audition, candidates should learn two (contrasting) monologues: selected from published plays.
Each monologue should have a sense of representation of yourself, connected to your identity. Both pieces should be learnt from book and MUST not exceed 2 minutes each.
WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR AUDITION
- Comfortable attire; please wear clothes that you are free to move in.
- Note pad and pen or tablet to take any notes you need from the Q&A.
SCHEDULE OF THE AUDITION DAY
Part 1
Candidates will take part in a dance class which will include Ballet & Jazz elements.
*Please do not worry if you don’t have much dance experience. We are looking for your potential to learn.
Part 2
Candidates will take part in a monologue workshop, where they will perform one or both monologues as a group.
Part 3
Candidates will be given individual slots to perform their songs to the audition panel, followed by a short interview.
*At this point, the panel may suggest an alternative course to the one that you applied for.
REMOTE AUDITIONS
A self-tape submission is required, and must include the following:
- 2 contrasting monologues – 1 classical and 1 contemporary (maximum length 2 minutes each)
